In November autumn is truly with us and as the skies darken people tend to stay home more. Thoughts are turning to Christmas shopping and the holiday season ahead.
Weather
The weather in Portugal in November can be chilly in the north of the country, though Lisbon, Alentejo and the Algarve still have pleasantly warm days. Some rainfall and cloudy days can be expected.

All Souls Day (All Saints’ Day) is a national holiday and celebrated often with processions across the country on November 1. It is a day to commemorate Christian saints.
Golegã in Ribatejo, about 30 km from Santarem, hosts the Feira de Sao Martinho aka the Feira Nacional do Cavalo (National Horse Fair) with bullfighting, horse parades and general bonhomie. Traditionally the festival takes place for around a week beginning on November 11th. Golegã is the horse capital of Portugal in particular the Lusitano breed.
The Porto Marathon (Maratono do Porto) takes place in November beginning and ending at the Palácio de Cristal. The 2021 edition is on November 7th. There is a full marathon, mini-marathon (6 km) and family race (16 km). A special fado concert will take place on November 3rd at the Edifício da Alfandega do Porto.

November Music Festivals
Super Bock em Stock is an alternative music festival in Lisbon. In 2021 it will be held from November 19-20 in and around the Avenida da Liberdade with over 50 artists performing. Venues include the Cinema São Jorge, the Teatro Tivoli, Cine-Teatro Capitóli, Sala Santa Casa, the Casa do Alentejo, the Palácio de Independência and the Coliseu dos Recreios.
